Biomapping
November 9th, 2006I ran across a research project recently that explores how we can use information we gather about our bodies in new and unique ways. The project is called Biomapping. Participants wear a custom designed Galvanic Skin Response indicator based on a lie detector along with a GPS and are told to walk around a given area for an hour. They return when the hour is up and the data is downloaded and a visual emotional map of the area is created. This tool can highlight points of high and low arousal in a community. Christian Nold, the creator of the biomapping process, collaborated with local residents from the Greenwich Peninsula to build this emotion map.
Imagine if you were moving to a new community and you could download an emotion map to identify where residents in felt the least and the most stress.
