The ageist comment which opens this piece is misleading for two reasons: a) PMOG isn't age-specific; b) this short piece is actually pretty straightforward.
I was 35yo when this short piece was written (living in ATX, didn't go to SXSWi) but I just got into PMOG recently, after turning 36. Tried it because of a FOAF on Twitter. Just because of the ageist comment, I feel forced to say that I think I grok PMOG. Not saying I'm an adept player. But I'm enjoying several of the effects, including the SNS features (acquaintances), the SU angle, the accumulation of social capital, etc.

But there's more to PMOG than this short description lets out. Part of it because of the type of players involved, who are quick to find unintended uses for the system.

Ah, well...

I'm 45. And installed the PMOG alpha last year. Now if only I could get people in their teens and twenties to get over themselves long enough to get up to speed on stuff that makes this look quaint.
